The Dolores Olmedo Museum opened its doors on September 17th, 1994, as a result of the vision of the businesswoman and collector Dolores Olmedo Patiño. The museum is located in Dolores Olmedo’s former residence in La Noria, Xochimilco. Since its opening, it has stood out for preserving and showcasing its founder’s legacy, establishing itself as the private museum that houses the most important collections of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo.
Since then, the museum has remained committed to providing a memorable experience centered on the art, traditions, richness, depth, and, above all, the beauty of our national culture, promoting this vision through its programming.
Beyond its role as an exhibition space, the museum serves as a platform for research, education, and contemporary dialogue, contributing to the understanding and promotion of Mexican art in its various forms.
